Not one, but two, pieces of exciting news for Scotland’s Masters players these past couple of weeks. Today the venue for next year’s World Cup was announced by World Masters Hockey. The World Cup will take place as four tournaments in The Netherlands and Belgium next summer.
The 2026 WMH World Cup will run alongside the 2026 FIH World Cup, creating a unique opportunity to celebrate the game at all levels across both nations and the world.
Glenn Paton, WMH President – and Scotland M70s player – said: “Twelve years after the very first combined FIH and Masters Hockey World Cups in the Netherlands, it is fitting that we return to the Low Countries for another historic edition. The passion, infrastructure, and hospitality of our hosts guarantee a festival of hockey worthy of our Masters Hockey family worldwide.”

This good news comes hot on the heels Scottish Masters Hockey confirming that Specialist Sports Limited will provide Osaka kit for our squads until 2029. This is part of a wider deal between Scottish Hockey and Specialist Sports Limited. The contract will see the innovative sports brand supply Scottish Hockey and Scottish Masters Hockey kit, with the new kit debuting at the recent EuroHockey Championship.
President of Scottish Masters Hockey Lee Edmonds-Ward, said: “The agreement with Osaka heralds a new and exciting arrangement for Scottish Hockey Masters. Osaka is known across the Masters hockey community for its quality products and we look forward to working with them.”
