Call for Expressions of Interest: Selectors for 2027 International Season
Scottish Masters Hockey is pleased to announce that we are now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from prospective selectors for the 2027 international season. This marks the beginning of preparations for a significant year of Masters hockey, with teams competing in two major tournaments — the Great Britain and Ireland 4 Nations and the European Championships — alongside additional fixtures including the Celtic Cup and Summer Nations.
Diverse backgrounds welcome
We are seeking selectors from a wide range of hockey backgrounds, including playing, coaching, managing, and selection experience. Individuals with strong knowledge of Masters hockey, sound judgement, and a commitment to fair, transparent selection processes are encouraged to apply.
Selection period – September 2026
Selections will take place throughout September, with in‑person sessions scheduled on Sundays in Glasgow. Team‑based meetings may also be held at additional times where required.
The selection schedule is as follows:
- Women’s Selections: 1st and 3rd Sundays in September
- Men’s Selections: 2nd and 4th Sundays in September
Finalised times and venue details will be announced by mid‑August.
Purpose of the selection panel
Selectors will play a critical role in shaping Scotland’s Masters squads for the 2027 season, ensuring squads are well‑prepared to compete at the highest level across all international tournaments. The panel will work within the Scottish Masters Hockey Ltd selection framework and uphold the organisation’s values of fairness, integrity, and excellence.
