A busy summer of hockey awaits the Scotland women’s masters squads, with the Great Britain and Ireland 4 Nations competitions in June and the World Cup running from mid-July to mid-August for the different age groups. Teams will be looking to take inspiration from the success of the W60 team, who won silver at the World Masters Hockey 2024 World Cup in Auckland, New Zealand.
The W35s, W40s, W45s and W50s get the ball rolling with their 4 Nations competition at Southgate Hockey Club, London, from 5 – 7 June. Later in the summer, from 22 July – 1 August, they will head to the Netherlands for the Masters World Cup 2026, with the W35s and W40s playing at HC Schiedam and the W45s and W50s at HC Rotterdam.
The W55s, W60s and W65s will travel across the Irish Sea for their 4 Nations competitions, which is being held in the shadow of Stormont in Belfast from 12 – 14 June. The World Cup for these age groups takes place in Belgium from 6 – 16 August at KHC Dragons, Brasschaat, just before the start of the FIH World Cup, being hosted jointly by Belgium and the Netherlands.
This year we see Scotland fielding a W70 team for the first time. This highlights the popularity of masters hockey in Scotland, and we wish the team the best of luck in their 4 Nations in Belfast and World Cup in Brasschaat.
