Aberdeen will play host to men’s teams from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England in the over 40s and 50s age groups this May (8-10). Come and watch some superb action throughout the three-day hockey fest at the home of Gordonians Hockey Club at Countesswells Sports Field. With two hockey pitches it’s not to be missed!

Competition

The tournament takes place between Friday 8 May to Sunday 10 May 2026 at Countesswells pitches in Aberdeen.

Schedule

Scotland’s over 50s will kick off the tournament against Wales, the first of 12 full international clashes.

Spectators

Spectators are not only welcome, they’re encouraged! Bring your flags and your voices to cheer your team on. There’s standing room round both the sand and water-based pitches. Please note there is no fixed seating, so please bring picnic chairs if you cannot stand for long periods.

Facilities on site

Toilets and changing rooms are housed in the facilities, which is a short walk from the pitches.

Food and drink

Whilst there are no on food or drink facilities in the pavillion, ALDI is directly opposite the pitch entrance. On Saturday Haydn’s Woodfired Pizza will be on site serving pizzas all day and be sure to grab a coffee and cake from Fresh Coffee at Daily Grind Coffee Trailer.

Drinking water is available.

Parking

There is car parking available at the venue. No overnight camping is permitted. Do not park on the double yellow lines and please stick to the speed limit of 10mph.

Physiotherapy/Sports Massage

We have been fortunate to secure students from Robert Gordons University to provide general sports massage for any aches and pains during the weekend, they will be facilitated inside the pavilion first aid room or under a gazebo pending weather, no booking is required it will be a first come first served basis, please be conscious about taking up too much of the students time given others will be requiring treatment.

By Taxi/Uber: UBER does operate in Aberdeen on a limited service(as far as we are aware. The biggest fleet in the city is Rainbow taxis (01224 878787/app also available).
